Can I bring my drone to Israel?
✅ Currently, there doesn't seem to be any restrictions on bringing drones within Israel as long as your import is considered as legitimate (generally one drone per person).
🚨 Be aware of the airline you purchase to travel as some main ones will only accept your drone on-board if its batteries are detached & placed in a firecase during travel time. Most airlines will have a battery voltage limit based on the recommendation of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). You can find more info about a specific airline here.
Where can I fly my drone in Israel?
✅ The Israeli Civil Aviation Authority provided a sweet online map showing where you are permitted to fly your drone or not in Israel. With little surprise, you should the country's borders & Palestine as a whole.

🚨 You should not fly above or near military installations & strategic infrastructure. Fly away from airports & avoid the borders of the country.
Recreational & Commercial Drone use in Israel
🚨 To fly a drone in Israel you will necessarily need to register it before taking off. With this in mind & in any circumstances, you must:
fly at a maximum altitude of 50 m above the ground & within sight at all times.
fly 250 m away from buildings, people & respect individuals' privacy.
you will need a third party insurance to fly your drone in Israel
fly at least 2 km away from airports (any airport, seaplane base or area where aircraft or helicopter take off & land) & give way to all other type of aircraft.
fly away from areas where its use could interfere with police or first responders.
operate a drone that has a maximum 2.4GHz frequency
How to register my drone in Israel?
✅ Registering your drone is mandatory in Israel prior taking off for anyone. Israeli authorities made an awesome online portal where everything can be done ahead of your arrival. To complete it, you will need your:
Your full contact details & a copy of your ID
Credit or debit card
Travel dates to Israel
Drone's serial number & its full tech details
To explain your motivations & provide the full flight information
🕔 You should provide this form at least 10 working days in advance to give time to local authorities to process your query.
💲 It will cost you about 85€ to complete the drone registration process in Israel.
What do I risk for flying a drone illegally in Israel?
The amount & scope of the fine will depend on the nature & severity of your infraction. The judges will also evaluate if you intentionally committed the infraction and/or if you had any commercial purposes to do such.
