Drones in Australia

Wrote to 47 rural LGAs in Victoria asking about the recreational drone flying rules.So far 29 responses. 24 apply CASA rules only, 3 have additional requirements and 2 ban outright. Those with additional rules and total bans appear not to appreciate scope or jurisdiction of CASA and quote bans on flying "over" council parks. Several indicated rules could change. One officer said he can remember only 5 complaints from residents over at least 5 years, all pertaining to privacy infringements. They were all referred to CASA.
